Project 2 Million is a campaign
conceptualised by KDYMM Sultan Kedah
and will be under the mandate of
Jemaah Dato’ Negeri Kedah (JDNK).

Objectives

01

Organise a 2.2 million tree planting activity.

Indicator Objective:
Planting 2.2 million trees.

Output Indicator:
Number of successfully planted trees.

List of activities to get the output:
Replanting 2.2 million trees in urban areas, mangrove forests and invaded or desolated forests

Greening the urban areas.

Indicator Objective:
Number of urban areas planted with shaded trees.

Output Indicator:
Number of successfully planted trees.


List of activities to get the output:
Planting shaded trees in municipal areas, cities, towns and by the roadsides.

Develop planting areas with agro-tourism ecosystems.

Indicator Objective:
Number of Agro-tourism areas that can be developed.

Output Indicator:
Number of coastal trees planted based on the distance between trees.

List of activities to get the output:
Proposals and suggestions from the District & Land Administration, Alor Setar City Council, Municipal Councils and District Councils of the Agro-tourism areas.

Conduct environmental awareness campaigns for school students.

Indicator Objective:
Number of schools by districts.

Output Indicator:
Number of students who are exposed to environmental awareness.

List of activities to get the output:
Number of quizzes for primary and secondary school students.

Produce alternative crops through research and development through IPTA/IPTS.

Indicator Objective:
Analysis of the benefits and costs with proposed alternative
crops such as carbon trade.


Output Indicator:
Suggestions for suitable crops such as carbon trade with
mangrove trees.


List of activities to get the output:
IPTA/IPTS such as UUM, UniSHAMs, UiTM &
AIMST.

PROGRAMME OUTPUT

A total of 2.2 million trees will be planted within 6 years and we will become a more
cultured community and be more aware of the importance of trees in our life.
