Urban Forest
The development of Urban Forest
The main aim of developing the Urban Forest is to create more green areas in urban cities by planting more trees. The main focus is on the major cities and towns in Kedah such as Alor Setar, Sungai Petani, Kulim, and Langkawi. Urban Forest 1 will be developed in Alor Setar City Square (Dataran Medan Bandar Alor Setar).
Reserve Forest
Replanting of Mangroves
Kedah is rich in mangrove forests. However, due to land exploration and encroachment of the forest as well as soil erosion, it has affected the natural habitats significantly. Therefore, the mangrove forests in the Merbok and Langkawi rivers need to be restored.

Hundreds of acres of forest reserves need to be replanted. This is mainly because logging, encroachment, and forest burning have impacted the ecosystem and wildlife. The Pedu Forest Reserve and Gunung Inas Forest Reserve are among the forest reserves that need to be given priority by the 2 Million Project.
Benches / Gazebos
Benches / Gazebos
Urban Forest 1 will be developed in the Alor Setar City Square (Dataran Medan Bandar Alor Setar) of the Alor Setar City Council . It is a tourist attraction spot for the locals and also visitors from outside Kedah. The provision of benches and gazebos will provide comfort to the visitors.
